In this article, I will show you what we have already implemented for our little 8-year-old Aspergirl (next May).
We started in parallel a behavioural therapy with Mrs. Nardjès BOUKERFA (her and our therapist)
Based on her advice, we have set up 2 things: routines and the behavioural chart.
– First, the routines:
There is a chart with each day of the week with the day’s behaviour, which changes as the behaviour evolves during the week.
My princess chose the smileys for each behaviour and the colour corresponding. It’s essential to make this choice with her… It will motivate her more.
We are:
Red with the fighter smiley for the terrible behaviour
Orange with the imp smiley for bad behaviour
Yellow with the winky smiley for average/ normal behaviour
Green with the sunglass’s smiley on an excellent behaviour
Pink with the smiley star for a top behaviour
In our house, if she has a green or pink smiley face at the end of the week, it’s a real chip.
And if it’s a yellow one, she has a fake chip.
And nothing for the orange and red.
I needed a little bit of material but not excessive if we buy as we go along (I have a friend who is a school teacher, and she lent me her laminator – a fantastic tool, but it costs 30/40 euros): sheets to print the pictures found on the net, sheets to laminate, Velcro round/square to stick, white paint canvases bought in a discount store, plastic pouches, poker chips, stamps and smiley faces.
We don’t have to use poker chips, stamps… Everyone does it according to their own ideas and budget, too 😊
Feel free to share your tips and tricks too.
If you want the links for the images of the routines, I could put them in the comments.
1…2…3…Let’s share!!!😊😊😊😊
